Matthew Gage Middle School provides a safe and positive environment, promotes education, and supports individuals for college, career, and world readiness.

Student learning support through tutoring and/or small group remediation for fifth and sixth grade. Strong math and/or reading instruction skills a plus. Instructional team will provide curriculum resources to assist with remediation and support.

Student Hires partners with K-12 schools and districts, colleges and universities, businesses, non-profits, and community-based organizations to deliver transformative experiences for youth.

The Center for Early Childhood Education CECE provides high-quality, early care and education programs in a safe, nurturing environment that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, linguistic, and physical development of children of UCR students, staff, faculty, and community. CECE plays an essential role in supporting children and families and their overall well-being. Additionally, it is vital to those on the UCR campus who teach, conduct research, learn and work each day in support of the ideals of higher education at the University of California.

HMI is a nonprofit organization that promotes community building in order to support refugee populations. We aim to be resourceful and effective in transforming refugees’ lives, changing public attitudes for the better, and connecting diverse populations within the same community.

RUSD’s Visual and Performing Arts Programs are an integral part to a student’s well-rounded education. RUSD encourages learning in all the arts and offers many student performance opportunities throughout the year to showcase their growth.

Fight For Autism (FFA) at UCR is a student-run organization that strives to advocate for those on the spectrum as well as represent and allow individuals on the spectrum to have a safe platform to freely express themselves. We host various events and activities that foster an inclusive environment for the neurodiverse community. Through our events, we hope to increase understanding and spread appreciation for autism. Our program Project L.E.A.D. grants members the opportunity to interact and bond with autistic children in local grade schools.

Madison Elementary School opened its doors to students in September, 1952. There were three primary teachers and a teaching Principal. All four classrooms were full and a waiting list of kindergarten children was established after the kindergarten reached sixty students. In September 1953, three more classrooms were added and Madison School added double sessions to accommodate Riverside's rapidly increasing population. By 1956, six more classrooms were added and the enrollment soared to 580 students. The second grade students were all bused to Mountain View Elementary School. In 1958, the school library was created and a part-time librarian added to the Madison staff. During the summer of 1967, Palm School closed its doors and many of the students were transferred to Madison for the 1976-77 school year. Beginning in the 1987-88 school year, our school received students from the Woodcrest, Orangecrest and Mockingbird Canyon areas of Riverside. With the completion of new schools within the school district, Madison was then able to serve students residing within our own attendance boundaries. Madison currently has an enrollment of 740. A full-time Principal, part-time Assistant Principal, and Teacher on Special Assignment work closely with the parents, staff and students to maintain a safe, learning-centered environment

#CaliforniansForAll College Corps is a new statewide program uniting students from different backgrounds with a common purpose. This initiative is committed to helping college students graduate on time, with less debt, while addressing societal challenges in the community.

UC Riverside is among one of the many campuses participating in this initiative. College Corps Fellows are recruited to serve over the course of one academic year in local government agencies, schools, and not-for-profit organizations. Service placements focus on three priority areas: K-6 Education, Climate Action, and Food Insecurity. 

Students (Fellows) who are interested in joining UCR College Corps will apply to serve 450 hours throughout the 2023-2024 academic year. Please note that this program is a year-long commitment (Fall 2023 - Spring 2024), and Fellows must complete 450 total service hours. In addition to serving on a weekly basis at an assigned service site, Fellows will attend monthly trainings hosted by the College Corps staff. We are looking for undergraduate UCR students who are passionate about community service and are looking for an opportunity to gain hands-on work experience. Fellows can earn up to $7,000 in living allowance stipend and up to $3,000 education award.

Open to all majors and UC-enrolled undergraduate students. Spend 10 weeks interning either with the UC Center in Sacramento (UCCS) program or the UC Washington Center (UCDC) program at one of many organizations in Sacramento, CA or Washington, DC. Students will earn academic credit and relevant work and research experience in their field. Students will obtain career readiness skills to grow professionally within their career fields and enhance academic learning. The educational value is exhibited through research, student learning objectives, professional and academic guidance from a faculty advisor and internship site supervisor, and the opportunity to successfully link theoretical knowledge from the classroom to the real-world. Financial aid applies and scholarships are available.

Student-Athlete Academic Services are a team of counselors that act in supportive roles for student-athletes to assist them with navigating and excelling in their academic responsibilities. Our mission is to support student-athletes, help them utilize campus resources, and also hold students accountable for their academic commitments. Counselors educate and communicate NCAA academic rules and certify academic eligibility while also completing day-to-day tasks like managing study hall requirements, student-athlete tutoring, life skills programming, course scheduling for all sports, academic weekly meetings, reporting to coaching staff and recording professor and instructor feedback.

Each year, new freshman and transfer students are welcomed into their first quarter with an orientation in the summer. The orientation includes several interactions with our School of Education college including a brief welcome from our Associate Dean, an overview of the major by the undergraduate student support staff, and assistance with enrollment into their first quarter at UCR. 

This year we are offering an opportunity for our current SOE undergraduates to assist in orientation. Students chosen to participate in this opportunity will be able to learn about the orientation process, gain insight on the goals of an orientation for students, assist with building and providing presentations as needed for new students, assist students with their very first college enrollment process, answer general student questions about their time at UCR, and receive training to enable them to discuss student enrollment and placement. This is a great opportunity for those students that are interested in completing their 40 hours of Community Engaged Learning over the summer, as well as those interested in pursuing a career pathway in academic advising/counseling and/or direct experience with student programming. 

This opportunity will guarantee completion of the 40 hours of Community Engaged Learning that includes training and orientations for a total of 50 hours.

Project Access strives to be the leading provider of vital on-site health, education and employment services to families, children and seniors living in affordable housing communities. Our goal is to help keep family members employed, children in school, and seniors active.

For college students interested in arts and nonprofit management, RAA offers unpaid internships for college students to assist with day-to-day tasks and short projects supporting administrative operations, fund development, marketing, and strategic planning. RAA is willing to work with colleges to craft an internship that meets course or graduation requirements.

We invite interns to work with us to provide our "at promise" students personalized college and career mentoring and to experience alternative education as it was meant to be. Come Back Kids is a high school independent study charter in 23 locations across Riverside County. CBK serves 9th through 12th grade students ages 13 and up, many of whom have struggled in comprehensive schools or who have left school without obtaining a diploma.

Responsibilities: An English Learner Support Team Member

Interns may be given different roles, such as and or not limited to: tutoring students in the library, office & clerical assistance, classroom support for Spanish-speaking students, assistance with AP or state exams, assistance with end of the year activities, and or other school duties.

The volunteers should be able to provide small group reading time or one on on reading support.  We could also have volunteers work to support in the classroom with math, grading or student support.

Our mission at My Learning Studio OUTREACH (MLSO) is to encourage and benefit all students and their parents academically, emotionally and financially in creative and innovative ways regardless of ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation. 

Supporting students and families that are low income, foster, adopted, at-risk, court-appointed, and now those affected negatively by COVID-19 is or priority. We offer award winning (rated the best tutoring service in the inland empire by The Press Enterprise for 15 years straight!) free or reduced-fee tutoring for all academic subjects to all ages in 1-1 or small groups. Enrichment workshops and classes that enhance families and individuals are also offered. 

Fontana High School is a comprehensive public school with grades 9th - 12th with approximately 2600 students. We are over 90% free and/or reduced lunch, approximately 93% hispanic and over 80% of the households speak Spanish.

UCR students will hold story time sessions via zoom to the surrounding community. Each story time session includes a discussion on the theme of the book, the actual reading of the book, and a discussion to show comprehension.
