At Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire, we grant life changing wishes to children with critical illnesses. Interns for Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire give of their time and talents to help create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

 

All of our internships are unpaid; however, in return for their hard work and dedication, our interns receive valuable training, knowledge, hands-on nonprofit work experience, a chance to meet others, and the gratification of making a difference in the life of a child. Academic credit can also be provided for students (specific criteria/requirements of the student’s educational institution apply). All interns must be a current undergraduate or graduate student (over the age of 18) with excellent written and oral communications skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to multitask and maintain confidentiality, computer proficiency, and a passion for the work of Make-A-Wish.

 

Volunteer Services Intern will assist our Volunteer Services Coordinator in all aspects of volunteer management, including but not limited to meeting with wish families, planning wish reveals, and local events, MAWOCIE has over 350 volunteers that make our mission possible.

 

Internship Responsibilities:

  • Assist with onboarding new volunteers and interns by creating files and updating contact information
  • Invite potential volunteers to interviews and trainings
  • Contact volunteers by telephone, or email about upcoming opportunities (wish, event, office, etc.)
  • Help with volunteer engagement/recommitment initiatives
  • Assist in meeting, trainings and event preparations

 

o    Internship Qualifications:

  • Strong project management skills and customer service skills

·        Minimum of 8-hour work week preferred
