Who We Are

Fruitfull partners with fruit tree owners and community volunteers who are dedicated to reducing waste and curbing food insecurity by upcycling fruits and other produce, while providing free fruit tree care and education. Since our inception, we've attracted a following of individuals who share our belief in nurturing and caring for fruit trees, fostering a deeper appreciation and gratitude for the gifts bestowed upon us by nature. This practice of sharing promotes kindness, generosity, and hospitality, while also addressing the issue of food insecurity and hunger, which is a critical problem in many communities. By joining forces, individuals can pool their resources and make a greater impact than they could alone, both in terms of the quantity of fruit donated and the number of people reached. For those in need, receiving fresh, healthy produce can make a significant difference in their wellbeing, and knowing that they are part of a caring community can provide a sense of hope and support. Working towards a common goal can bring people from diverse backgrounds and experiences together, creating a sense of unity and solidarity. Our aim is to keep building a community that shares and donates fruit, where people can have a shared sense of social responsibility, purpose, and contribute to a more equitable, compassionate, and FruitFull society.

What We Do

Fruitfull partners with farmer's markets, orchards and other fruit tree owners in assessing what services they are required that are of the following: 1. Harvest Leaders: The Harvest Leaders play a crucial role in ensuring the success of the harvest operation. They are responsible for scheduling the harvest, coordinating the volunteers on site, documenting the process, and actively participating in fruit picking. This role demands additional training to be fulfilled effectively. 2. Fruit Pickers (Our casual volunteers): They have the flexibility to choose their preferred time and location to harvest by joining any of the scheduled picks organized by the Harvest Leaders. Those who wish to participate in eight or more outings per season can apply to join a neighborhood team, which gives them priority access to sign up for picks in their community. 3. Tree Assessors: play a critical role in helping us collect essential information about the trees in their community, ensuring a FruitFull harvest. They also act as the initial point of contact between Fruit Tree Owners and our volunteer team. This role necessitates extra training. 4. Fruit Sorters: Our Community Sharing Model relies heavily on Fruit Sorters, who play a crucial role in the harvest process. These volunteers work together during the harvest season to sort and grade the fruit, ensuring that it is distributed effectively throughout the community.
