The Office of Sustainability, in partnership with GCAP, is organizing a small-scale cleanup and educational event at the Santa Ana River Trail near Martha McLean Park. The event, limited to 10 student participants, is scheduled for February 9th, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
We will provide transportation for volunteers! Please meet at the AI Knoll (grass area between BCOE/AI) at 9:30 AM on the day of the event.
Participants will be instructed to:
- Stay strictly on the trail and remain cautious of oncoming cyclists, who have the right of way.
- Avoid wearing earphones, stay aware of their surroundings, and steer clear of the riverbed.
To minimize potential risks, we are keeping the group small to ensure effective supervision. Participants will wear safety vests, use trash pickers, and be advised to avoid direct contact with hazardous materials. GCAP will also provide heavy-duty gloves for added protection
