Join the UCR Volunteer Center for our fall quarter service event on Friday, November 21, 2025. We are partnering with the City of Riverside Parks, Recreation, and Community Services division to volunteer at the annual Lincoln Park Thanksgiving Dinner. This event will feed up to 400 residents that reside in the neighborhoods surrounding Lincoln Park. The dinner is from 6-8pm, so volunteers will sign up for one of two shifts:
Shift 1: 2:00-5:30pm
Shift 2: 5:30-9:00pm
Volunteers for shift 1 (2:00-5:30pm) will support this event by:
-Setting up the venue, including tables, chairs, and decorations
-Greeting guests
-Helping guests form an orderly line for food
-Help prepare food on serving tables
Volunteers for shift 2 (5:30-9:00pm) will support this event by:
-Greeting guests
-Helping guests form an orderly line
-Helping guests carry their plate to their table
-Cleaning up during and after the event
Additional Important Information:
Transportation: Transportation is only provided for shift 1. All volunteers for the 2:00-5:30pm shift will be accompanied by UCR staff on the public bus from campus to Lincoln Park and then back to campus. The bus departs campus at 1:30pm and will return to campus at 6:00pm. Volunteers for shift 1 are also allowed to drive themselves to/from the event. All volunteers for shift 2 (5:30-9:00pm) must have their own transportation to/from the event.
Waiver: All volunteers will be required to sign a liability waiver prior to their service.
Incentive item: All volunteers will receive a UCR Volunteer t-shirt
*After signing up, all volunteers will receive an email from the Volunteer Center confirming their spot and additional information regarding their shift.
