UCR student volunteers are matched with local high school students. Mentoring sessions take place once a month via zoom for one hour and are led by a Big Brothers Big Sisters program specialist. In addition to the monthly mentoring sessions, volunteers assist their mentee/high school students by increasing social capital, strengthen college and career readiness, and find their voices as community advocates. The relationships they build with college mentors empower them to overcome educational and economic barriers on their path to success.
