At Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire, we grant life changing wishes to children with critical illnesses. Interns for Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire give of their time and talents to help create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
All of our internships are unpaid; however, in return for their hard work and dedication, our interns receive valuable training, knowledge, hands-on nonprofit work experience, a chance to meet others, and the gratification of making a difference in the life of a child. Academic credit can also be provided for students (specific criteria/requirements of the student’s educational institution apply). All interns must be a current undergraduate or graduate student (over the age of 18) with excellent written and oral communications skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to multitask and maintain confidentiality, computer proficiency, and a passion for the work of Make-A-Wish.
Operations Intern will assist with general office, human resources, and finance support for the organization.
Internship Responsibilities:
- Answer phones and provide excellent customer service
- Create instructional videos and Standard Operating Procedures
- Assist in meeting and presentation preparation
- Gather applicant information to update internal databases and provide status updates as needed
- Provide accounts payable and receivable support
- Help with staff engagement initiatives
- File and scan documents
Internship Qualifications:
- Must be working towards a college level degree
- Office or nonprofit experience preferred
- Strong project management and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently
- Minimum of 10-hour work week preferred
